HubOut – Creative Workshop has started, from spring 2013, the ZAC – Shared Artistic Zones project, which has affected the city of Cinisello Balsamo (MI) for more than six months; the project involved residents and simple users of the territory in a participatory art process that touched on various contemporary issues such as: the use of new technologies, active citizenship and urban regeneration. This participatory process has triggered an interesting reflection on how art can be an effective tool for the involvement of a community in the management of its territory, inserting itself within the mechanisms of democracy between citizens and institutions.
The project is divided into 7 phases: collection of ideas, synthesis of the ideas collected, residences of the artists and co-planning, planning, promotion, awarding / voting and finally realization. During the various development phases of ZAC – Shared Artistic Zones, a calendar of events open to the public was proposed which accompanied and deepened some of the issues addressed during the creative process. All public meetings took place at the Pertini Cultural Center.
